Jess Glynne has scored her 5th #1 with new single ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’. This now puts her alongside Cheryl Fernadez-Versini as the only British females to have #5 number one singles.
The news also comes hand in hand with the release of Jess’s debut album ‘I Cry When I Laugh’ which is out today on Atlantic, which also currently sits at the top of the iTunes album chart.
The singer has also achieved the feat quickly; in just 18 months, compared to five years for Cheryl. Glynne’s previous chart leaders are Rather Be (with Clean Bandit in Feb 2014), My Love (with Route 94 in March 2014), Hold My Hand (April 2015) and Not Letting Go (with Tinie Tempah in July 2015).
Glynne said: “I can’t even begin to explain how awesome it feels to have Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself go to Number 1! The past few months have been one long, emotional journey so to come back to so much love and support is insanely amazing. I just want to say a massive THANK YOU. This is the best feeling ever!”
