Gwen Stefani reportedly reached breaking point before she pulled the plug on her marriage to Gavin Rossdale.

The No Doubt singer and Bush frontman announced their break-up earlier this month, after nearly 13 years of marriage.

In the wake of the split there's been whispers about Gavin's fidelity, which apparently all got too much for Gwen.

"They are barely on speaking terms after a string of cheating allegations against Gavin. In the end it's not so much about whether they're true or not. The sheer pressure takes its toll and Gwen reached the point where she didn't want to take it anymore," a source told British magazine Grazia.

"And there's no denying that Gavin hasn't helped himself. He's always revelled in his rock'n'roll image, and rumour has it he sees the fact so many women fancy him as a badge of honour."

Since they wed in 2002, Gwen and Gavin have had to weather a few storms together.

They're proud parents to sons Kingston, Zuma and Apollo, but in 2004 a paternity test revealed Gavin was also the father of British model Daisy Lowe, after a fling he'd had with Pearl Lowe in the 80s.

In 2010 49-year-old Gavin confessed to an affair he'd had with male singer Marilyn, something Boy George first revealed in 1995.

However most people thought their union was a strong one, especially after 45-year-old Gwen gushed about her husband in a February interview.

"I never really saw myself landing a guy that hot. I don’t know if I was a nerd in high school, but I definitely wasn’t the super-cute cheerleader," she told Cosmopolitan.

“So I never saw myself getting somebody like that. But I do think he’s quite handsome. It’s not the most important thing about him, but it is nice... and he makes really cute babies!”
