Joe Jonas and Gigi Hadid’s relationship is purely platonic, according to his rep.
The 25-year-old set tongues wagging on Monday when he got cosy with the model of the moment at the CFDA Awards after party. But despite rumours that their pair have embarked on a romance, his spokesperson insists there is nothing going on.
“They are friends," his rep told Us Weekly. "That's all."
After the main event, the young stars attended the party hosted by Refinery29. And according to an insider at the bash, the pair were holding hands and being very affectionate with each other.
“[They were] very close to each other and holding hands,” the source told the outlet.
The pair did little to dispel the gossip by posing for a series of selfies together with their friends. In one that was posted on Instagram by singer-songwriter Jhene Aiko, the 20-year-old beauty was seen playfully biting the singer’s ear.
However the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and former Disney star, have been friends for quite some time and his representative puts this down to their obvious affection.
Gigi has recently come out of a relationship with Cody Simpson, while Joe has previously dated model Blanda Eggenschwiler as well as Gigi’s close friend Taylor Swift.
If anything were to happen between the pair, Joe would no doubt hope the Shake It Off singer would give her blessing after recently admitting that the pair are on good terms despite their brief romance back in 2008.
“She's great. Yeah, we're friends," he told Access Hollywood. “In this industry you meet a lot of people and you stay in touch. Obviously, it's tough to be friends with people that are always constantly travelling, but yeah, we're cool."
