DJ Target and Danny Weed together have a long legacy of chart hits, successful independent careers as DJs and producers and are long-term members of one of the UK's biggest grime crews, Roll Deep. Subsequently, they have become well-respected tastemakers in the UK music industry and their successful monthly entertainment and new music night 'Pitched Up' has just celebrated its first birthday. It is with great excitement and credit to the music scene that they have now been able to further develop their ‘Pitched Up’ brand to encompass a Sony imprint record label.

BBC Radio 1 & Radio 1Xtra DJ, DJ Target, says of the development, “Originally we started 'Pitched Up' to provide a fresh platform for new DJ’s and artists to showcase their music at a cool East London venue where we could attract a really cool crowd. After its initial success we have grown it into a label that has passion and purpose for all things fresh and exciting from the world of new music. Exciting times are ahead for 'Pitched Up'.”

The duos focus on homegrown talent via their brand has been pivotal to the careers of a number of UK acts and has also become something of a great aspiration to many. 'Pitched Up' prides itself as the place to see and hear the new acts everyone’s talking about and the monthly night, held at Birthdays in Dalston, is somewhere for music lovers to experience music in an original, enjoyable and credible way. It seems set that the label will adopt a very similar ethos by giving acts an extended platform from which to launch their careers.
