iC1s have confirmed the follow up to debut mini album ‘In The Blink Of An Eye’, a 5 track EP “Armada” is to be released on 27th April 2015 through Two Sisters Records, and with it reveal a spring tour and a host of festival appearances.

‘Armada’ with it’s striking propaganda artwork deals with the difficulties of everyday life and the problems that telling the truth and speaking your mind can create for you:

“This is about how shooting your mouth off, generally leads to upsetting people and causing trouble, despite the fact it’s usually those moments where the truth is actually spoken, and as we know, people don’t like hearing the truth.” explains iC1s singer Daniel Coburn. “We had the key lyric for the song knocking around for a while – “If it’s loose lips that sinks ships then I’m taking down the whole Armada” and we all really liked the imagery that conjured up and we basically built the song around that and the driving riff that runs throughout the song ”

Written in Los Angeles and recorded in London with veteran producer Barny Barnicott (Editors, Arctic Monkeys, The Enemy, Kasabian) on production and mixing duties the EP shows both sides of the band at its best. A mixture of energy and regret in lead track “Armada” and the punky edge of “Don’t Change” to the more reflective side of the band shining through on “Burn Away” and the epic “Forever Fighting Tides” with strings and a hammond organ helping to highlight Coburns soaring vocals and thought provoking lyrics.

Having gained a fearsome reputation for blistering live shows sharing stages with the likes of The Charlatans, The Cribs, Frankie & The Heartstrings, The Family Rain, Darlia and Dexters. An upcoming UK tour in April and May along with some key festival slots including Soundcity, Tramlines, Ibiza Rocks and Isle Of Wight will once again showcase the passion and belief of iC1s and it’s ever growing legion of fans.

‘Armada’ will be available on CD and digital formats.
