Cissy Houston is reportedly maintaining a vigil at the bedside of granddaughter Bobbi Kristina.
The 81-year-old flew in from New Jersey on Thursday to support her ailing granddaughter at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Once at the medical facility, Cissy is said to have spent “the entire night in Bobbi’s room”, a source told Us Weekly magazine.
Along with Bobbi’s father Bobby Brown, the 21-year-old’s family have been having regular prayer groups in the hope that her condition will improve.
Bobby is also said to have been singing hymns to his daughter in her hospital bed.
While Bobby and Cissy have been maintaining bedside vigils, Bobbi’s husband Nick Gordon has allegedly not been back to visit his wife since she was first admitted to the hospital.
The tense relations between Nick and Bobbi’s family have been well documented, and are believed to be the reason for his lack of time at the hospital.
"Nick hasn't been to visit Bobbi since she moved to this hospital," the source added to Us Weekly. "I think he's banned from seeing her. Nick spent the entire first day with her, but hasn't been back to see her.”
Bobbi is apparently unresponsive, after she was found face down in a bathtub on Saturday.
Her family were forced to release a statement earlier this week following speculation that she has no brain activity.
The statement via Bobby’s lawyer read: “If we issued a statement every time the media published a false report regarding this matter, that's all we would be doing 24 hours a day. This is false, just as is the vast majority of the other reporting that is currently taking place."
Following the statement, Bobbi’s cousin Jerod Brown posted a Facebook update to fans, informing them of her condition.
“Hey y'all, a few of you all have been messaging me, commenting under photos about her condition," the 21-year-old wrote. "Though it seems the odds are against her, though doctors don't see any hope for change, though we might want to play detective and find out how she got there, though it looks impossible for her to stand again."
He concluded: “STILL PRAY FOR BK #StillPrayForBK. Campaign starts NOW! Bobbi Kristina Houston Gordon (sic)."
