Mariah Carey will be “showering her dogs with love” this Christmas now she’s split from Nick Cannon, according to reports.
The superstar singer and her husband announced their separation in August after months of speculation. While the pair have confirmed they are spending Yuletide together with their three-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, it’s thought Mariah will be giving more attention to her pooches than her estranged spouse.
British newspaper The Sun claims she will be sending her pups off to luxury doggy hotel Chateau Poochie in Florida where they will stay in the Royal Suite. Here they will be treated to a range of facials and spas as they lounge on a king size sleigh bed with a perfect view of a flat-screen TV.
“Mariah is dog crazy and Christmas mad so she always goes overboard at this time of year.
“She loves treating them and doesn’t care about the cost,” a source divulged.
“It’s obviously been a tough year but she’s joking that she doesn’t have to buy any presents for Nick so she’ll make up for it by showering her dogs with love.”
This wouldn’t be the first time Mariah has apparently splashed out on her pets for a special stay in a hotel. Earlier this year the songstress is thought to have spent a staggering £15,000 on her beloved dogs for a retreat at The Paw Seasons hotel in Bristol, UK. She even flew them over from the US in style, reportedly paying £100,000 to charter a private jet.
While it didn’t confirm this rumour, which also claimed the dogs had their own personal chefs cooking meals planned by Mariah, The Paw Seasons did release a statement hinting at some truth to it.
"Most of our guests arrive with a good supply of their usual food, but if [clients] want us to order in a couple of juicy organic steaks, we'll organise it," it said.
