One Direction first to hit billion streams on Spotify

One Direction have surpassed the amazing one billion streams milestone on Spotify.

One Direction smashed through the one billion streams barrier this week, just a week after they launched their new album, ‘Four’, and released their latest single ‘Night Changes’, both available on Spotify. This makes One Direction only the second British band in history to achieve this.

Kevin Brown, Spotify’s head of Label Relations for Europe, added: “Not surprisingly, One Direction are one of the most popular bands on Spotify, with many millions of dedicated fans listening to their music. We congratulate 1D on joining the very select club of artists who are true streaming superstars.”
