In November, Aloft Liverpool will come alive with a series of intimate, secret gigs to mark the official opening of the hotel. Collaborating with unique music movement, Sofar Sounds, the gigs will pay credence to the city’s cultural status and music heritage by celebrating emerging local talent.
Aloft Liverpool is set to transform the city’s iconic Royal Insurance Building into a stylish and contemporary city-centre hotel. Having lain derelict for the past 20 years, Aloft is breathing new life into the Grade II listed building, creating a modern, fresh and fun destination.
For the launch of Aloft Liverpool, Sofar Sounds will curate unique gigs with a variety of artists in several rooms throughout the hotel. The gigs will feature local talent and guests won’t find out who they will be watching until they reach the room.
A perfect partner for Aloft, Sofar Sounds creates a unique music experience by hosting secret gigs in intimate venues around the world, designed to satisfy true music lovers, and bring the magic of live music back to life. From emerging artists to big-name musicians, previous gigs have included the likes of Karen O (Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs), Hozier and Bastille.
Opening their doors to fresh music perspectives, Aloft Hotels around the world regularly team up with cutting-edge musicians as part of their Live at Aloft music progamme. Music enthusiasts and hotel guests have the opportunity to meet artists and experience exclusive live performances in Aloft properties worldwide.
Andrew Kendrick, General Manager, Aloft Liverpool said of the collaboration: "We’re delighted to be celebrating Aloft Liverpool with an unparalleled music experience. Sofar Sounds share Aloft’s ambition of supporting local and emerging music, so we couldn’t have dreamt of a better partner to launch the hotel with.”
Rafe Offer, Co-Founder of Sofar Sounds comments: "We’re thrilled to be working with Aloft to launch the new Liverpool hotel.
