Jessie J still finds fame "weirds" her out.

The 26-year-old might be producing smash hits and hanging out with some of the biggest names in showbiz, but that doesn't mean she's not down to earth. That's why it really upsets her that public perceptions of her can sometimes be a little skewed.

"It's saddening, because I'm a positive person," she sighed to the British edition of OK! magazine.

"I live my life being polite, on time, giving all my time to my fans. Then that word 'diva' comes along.

"I remember why I wrote You Don't Really Know Me. I was at an airport and the woman was like, 'I'm so sorry, there's a queue!' I was like, 'I'll wait, it's fine!'

"The fame thing still weirds me out. I'm not always Jessie J - I want to go to [the supermarket] and walk around in my pyjamas - I'm the same as everyone else!"

She's currently busy promoting her new album Sweet Talker, which will be released on October 10 and features her collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande, Bang Bang.

While her debut record Who You Are spawned big hits such as Price Tag and Do It Like a Dude, 2013's sophomore Alive wasn't quite such a success.

This time around, Jessie is confident she's produced something great.

"I agree with that," she answered when asked if the emergence of iTunes means there is more emphasis on singles charts.

"But this is a good body of work. I'll be honest - there were songs on the first and second albums that I would skip, that I even got bored of. This album I can listen to all the way through. Every song could be a single."
