Kanye West has reportedly angered his mother-in-law by wanting to record a James Bond track.
The 37-year-old rapper seems to be a fan of the spy franchise and sampled Shirley Bassey's theme song for 1971 instalment Diamonds Are Forever for his track Diamonds from Sierra Leone.
Kanye is said to be secretly trying to pursue writing a song for the 24th movie, but wife Kim Kardashian's mom Kris Jenner is apparently strongly against the idea.
Kris' anger stems from 007 star Daniel Craig's 2011 interview in which he slammed the reality star clan, dubbing them "f**king idiots" and openly "judging" them.
The family matriarch reportedly doesn't want Kanye to pursue the venture until the British actor apologises for his comments.
“Kris isn’t budging but Kanye is still desperate to do it," a source told British newspaper The Daily Star.
“Kim isn’t taking sides, but is privately hoping he doesn’t end up recording the theme.”
Despite the musician's dream, film bosses are still said to be taken with Adele after her 2012 theme for Skyfall. The film went on to become the highest grossing James Bond film made.
“Kanye would do an amazing job but if Adele wants the gig it’s hers," the source added.
Meanwhile, the Stronger rapper is gearing up to finish The Yeezus Tour which promotes his latest album. The shows were originally meant to end last December in Canada, but Kanye added more dates in America for February and will be finishing up in Australia in September.
It is thought these extra shows have become a concern for his spouse Kim, especially now they have daughter North.
"Kim knows Kanye wants her and North with him. But she feels he needs to understand that she and North have a life too and his career can't take priority over them," a source previously said.
