Kim Kardashian is reportedly keen to be “taken seriously as a vocal artist”.

The 33-year-old reality star released a single in 2011 entitled Jam (Turn It Up).

Apparently she is looking to get into music again in a major way.

“Kim has told pals she’s keen to be taken seriously as a vocal artist,” a source told British newspaper The Sun.

"She’s started vocal coaching and songwriting lessons and set up meetings with record companies.”

It is unknown whether Kim is planning on releasing a full-length album.

She just recently tied the knot with Grammy-winner Kanye West and he is purportedly doing everything he can to support his wife in her musical endeavours.

“Kanye will advise on the project, which he’s given his full backing,” the insider said.

When Kim released her single Jam (Turn It Up), which was produced by The-Dream, she said her foray into music was just for charity, as proceeds from the single were given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

“There's no album in the works or anything – just one song we did for the show, and a video Hype Williams directed, half of the proceeds we're giving away to a cancer foundation, because The-Dream's and one of my parents passed away from cancer,” she told Billboard. “It's just all having fun – with a good cause."

Kim and Kanye married during a lavish ceremony at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, last month.

The couple share daughter North together, who turned one year old on June 15. Their little girl’s birthday happened to land on Father’s Day this year.
