Simon Cowell has introduced his mother to his son.

The music mogul and his partner Lauren Silverman welcomed Eric into the world last month, with the tot born in the US.

The family are now in the UK, with Simon taking the opportunity to show his son off to his mother Julie.

“It was a lovely visit from Simon and Lauren and Julie was thrilled,” an insider told British newspaper The Mirror.

“There were some very emotional moments when she got to hold and touch Eric and his name is obviously very poignant for Julie as her husband Eric died in 1999.”

Simon has surprised many by being a doting father to his son, as he’d previously said he didn’t think he wanted children.

However, he hasn’t been won over by every aspect of parenthood and recently admitted it’s true that he will probably never change a diaper.

“I feed Eric, I talk to him and play with him, but I don’t think dads do changing nappies. I’ll leave that up to the nanny,” he told Sky News.

Simon’s friends have already seen a change in him since he became a father. His former flame Sinitta has remained close to him over the years and is delighted to see him with his son.

"He seems like the Simon I used to know before the super-famous and super-rich Simon he is now," Sinitta mused to the British edition of OK! magazine.

"He was a big softy and a very affectionate, sweet, family-orientated man. We used to spend weekends with his family in Windsor. The vibe I'm getting now is he's feeling very much like the old Simon. I don't feel like I really lost him to fame and success, but he's started to be seen as a caricature and now Eric's brought a softer side of Simon back."
