Miley Cyrus has given life advice to Justin Bieber.

The 19-year-old popstar has been getting into trouble recently and was arrested last week for DUI, resisting arrest without violence and driving on an expired license in Miami.

He's also been charged with the assault of a limo driver and is accused of having pelted his neighbour's house with eggs, causing $20,000 of damage.

Miley, 21, is often criticised for her skimpy stage outfits and for admitting she takes drugs. She has now reached out to Justin with words of wisdom.

“You’ve got a lot of money and pay people to make sure you don’t get in trouble,” she said on The Tonight show with Jay Leno. “I get the most flack yet I’m not doing anything illegal, everything I do is legal in California.

"I'm doing a lot of sh*t, but I'm not doing anything illegal – so that's alright."

The former Disney star shocked her fans when she cut her hair in 2012 and since then the singer has been determined to shake off her good-girl image.

She made headlines last year by twerking on stage with Robin Thicke at an awards do, seemingly smoking marijuana while performing in Amsterdam and debuting a racy nude video for track Wrecking Ball.

It's seems Miley's whole family is keen to give Justin some support.

The star's father, Billy Ray Cyrus, also recently reached out to the Baby singer.

"A lot of people do ask me for parenting advice. So I would say, first of all, hey, I'm sure he's got lots of people talking to him right now. I would just invite him to come down and chill out with me, maybe in Tennessee," he told Access Hollywood.

"Let's go up to the tepee, build a fire, step away and just, you know, maybe take a break for a little bit, just think about what's important. Get back to life... Build a fire, count the deer and the hawks and relax a little bit."
