Eminem’s $2 million offer to perform at a Super Bowl party has reportedly been turned down.
The 41-year-old is currently enjoying chart success with his latest album The Marshall Mathers LP 2, his eighth studio record. It has been well received by critics, prompting the star to allegedly request high fees for performing. He was apparently in the running to take to the stage at the NFL Owners Party, held during the week the prestigious American Football match takes place.
"Reps from the event were looking for a headline act for the party that followed the dinner, which will be attended by 1,500 lucky folks. When Eminem's agents laid out the financial terms, we're told the owners group passed," sources told TMZ.
Kanye West is also rumoured to have been approached by the team arranging the bash, but the Yeezus singer's financial demands were also too high.
Although it's thought that his asking price was significantly lower than Eminem's, it was still too extravagant to be met.
"It was $1 million, plus plus plus a lot of other perks," another source said.
It seems that Janelle Monáe that will be filling the entertainment spot at the party, as her asking price of $150,000 was in line with the budget.
The R&B singer will be amongst a host of singers performing at various events during the Super Bowl week in 2014, running from late January until the start of February.
Highly sort after DJs are also in demand to entertain fans, with some asking for between $750,000 and $1million to perform, according to TMZ.
