On 17th February 2014, Mercury Music Prize nominated Luke Haines will present An Evening with Luke Haines in the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room.

Haines will perform previous material and songs from his new solo album Rock and Roll Animals; a psychedelic story of righteous rock n roll and how three rock n roll animal friends, when not frolicking in the undergrowth, do battle with their most unrighteous nemesis – a bird from Tyneside made of steel and wire called The Angel Of The North. Rock and Roll Animals was released by Cherry Red in July 2013.

Of his new album Luke said, “Free your minds, turn off your modern screens and turn on your 21st century imaginations. Let us follow the townsfolk into the woods where the rock n roll animals are freaking out and running wild. But remember one thing: Nature is an evil mother.”

Luke Haines is a Mercury Music Prize nominated English musician, songwriter and author, who has recorded music under various names and with various bands, including The Auteurs, Baader Meinhof and Black Box Recorder.
