CeeLo Green may be ordered to drug education classes as part of a plea deal.

The singer pleaded not guilty to felony ecstasy possession last week, following allegations he had slipped the drug into a woman's drink. If convicted he faces four years in prison, but it has been claimed his legal team is now working out a deal with prosecutors.

"If CeeLo decides to plead out, he will not face any jail time and the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanour," an insider told RadarOnline.

"It would require him to attend drug education classes and narcotics anonymous meetings. It’s a deal that’s on the table. It’s likely the case will never go to trial."

The woman originally accused the 38-year-old star of sexual assault, but there was insufficient evidence for the allegation to make it to court.

Last week CeeLo was in court where his bond was set at $30,000, which he paid. He was told to return to court on November 20 and he has apparently done all he can to abide by the legal process.

"From the outset, CeeLo has been very cooperative with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and he does not have a criminal record, which would help him in the event of any plea deal," the source said.

CeeLo is accused of putting the illegal substance in the woman's beverage while they were out for dinner in July last year. Afterwards they returned to her hotel room.
