The singer was seen loading up on designer infant clothes, all for girls, at Petit Tresor in Hollywood reports msnbc.com.
Britney, who wed husband Kevin Federline last September, also stocked up on blankets and bibs.
A source at the shop said: "Britney was very private and we respect that. And she was also very pleasant."
Britney has not disclosed the sex of the baby.
