British triple threat, singer, songwriter and producer Labrinth returns with new single Beneath Your Beautiful, released through Syco Records on 18th November 2012.
Impressively, this is his fifth single from debut album Electronic Earth, which went straight to #2 in April this year. He has since sold nearly 2 million records.
A definite highlight of the album and one of only two collaborations, Beneath your Beautiful is a duet with Emeli Sandé and moves away from the Labrinth-associated brave arrangements and electro-synths to demonstrate his grasp on traditional musicality. A romantic piano ballad, it is arrestingly poetic, showcasing both Labrinth and Emeli’s stripped back vocals throughout this tender love song.
One of the biggest new artists of 2012 in his own right, as someone who is evidently very at home around a mixing desk, Labrinth has celebrities queuing around the block to work with him – his latest production credit is Plan B’s new single ‘Playing With Fire’, taken from his album ‘Ill Manors’.
Labrinth has also been working hard launching fresh new talent, ExR, through his label imprint Odd Child. Recently releasing their first EP, Emergency Room, they have had huge critical acclaim and have been cosigned by the likes of Azealia Banks and Jessie J.
If that wasn’t enough to keep him busy, Labrinth will head out on his biggest national, headline tour to date this autumn:
