Glastonbury has been ranked 7th coolest brand in the influential CoolBrands® list, the definitive annual survey of the coolest brands in the UK.

Now in its eleventh year, the list follows a vote by a combination of just under 3,000 British consumers and a panel of 39 key influencers and prominent figures. Rizzle Kicks, Rob da Bank, Carl Barât, Gemma Cairney, Susanna Lau (aka Susie Bubble) and Plan B were amongst them.

Co-ordinated by The Centre for Brand Analysis, the prestigious CoolBrands list is drawn from over 10,000 independently identified brands, shortlisted to 1,200. The panel of influencers score each brand keeping in mind factors that define a cool brand such as innovation, originality, style, authenticity, desirability and uniqueness, before the British public cast their vote. The official results reveal the brands most highly rated by both audiences.

Other new entries featuring high in the top 20 and covering music streaming were YouTube, up eight places to number two and BBC iPlayer scooping 6th place. Alongside Skype, Google and Twitter, these free brands make this year’s top 20 the most affordable cool list yet.

Notable entries in the wider list achieving CoolBrands status include new entries Sony Music and TuneTribe, a digital music download store with more than 3 million available tracks. Spotify, which launched four years ago and provides consumers a fully integrated offering also received high praise in the cool stakes from panel members and the public.

The CoolBrands survey has been compiled annually since 2001. The results are published every September and a selection of the country’s coolest brands are featured in a luxurious, hardback format book, available from all good bookshops (RRP £50), or which can be ordered by contacting 020 7079 3310 or at CoolBrands.uk.com.
