Tulisa Contostavlos wanted to be an archaeologist when she was younger but when she found out how long it would take before she was qualified the blonde beauty decided on a singing career.

Tulisa Contostavlos wanted to "dig up dinosaur bones" when she was younger.

The 24-year-old star was planning a career as an archaeologist while she was at school but when she discovered how long it would take before she was qualified the blonde beauty set about trying to become a singer instead.

She said: "When I was seven, I wanted to dig up dinosaur bones. I just thought it will be so long until I can be an archaeologist, so I picked up a mic."

The 'X Factor' judge - who shot to fame with pop band N-Dubz alongside her cousin Dappy Contostavlos and ex-boyfriend Fazer - admits she is a "controversial" character and is looking forward to revealing the "truth" about her early career in forthcoming autobiography 'Honest'.

Speaking to UK TV show 'Daybreak', Tulisa - whose ex-boyfriend Justin Edwards leaked a sex tape of the pair online earlier this year - added: "I'm one of those controversial celebs or whatever you want to call it, but I'm actually a musician, people forget this.

"I'm happy for people to judge me - I've taken that on board by doing this job, so I'm ok with that - but if you're going to judge me, judge me on the truth, and the truth is in the book."
