In a little under three weeks, Field Day festival will be celebrating its fifth anniversary in East London’s Victoria Park. With one of its most exciting line-up’s to date, Field Day - held on Saturday June 2nd – is sure to draw music revellers in their masses, once again, with it’s offerings of a rich and varied line-up of fantastic bands and artists, all set amidst the event's village fete-like aesthetic.

This year’s bill sees the much acclaimed Death Grips, SBTRKT, Sleigh Bells, and Django Django performing among the likes of somewhat more established acts such as Franz Ferdinand, and The Vaccines
The really great thing about Field Day, however, is its ability to provide a wealth of fresh, and exciting talent, that, as history has shown, tends to be a precursor to the breakthrough acts of the year ahead. With Benjamin Power of Fuck Buttons bringing his organic brand of sub-infused, Stars of the Lid-type electronica, in the shape of Blanck Mass; and Copenhagen-based outfit, When Saints Go Machine providing their sparse, Depeche Mode-laden, electronic pop sound, Field Day 2012 offers a line-up sonically rich in diversity and innovation.

Other artists to be excited about include American post-rock favourites, Tortoise; the wonderfully dynamic, Metronomy; multi-instrumentalist and gifted songwriter, Andrew Bird; the individual talent of Claire Boucher’s Grimes, and Glaswegian three-piece, Errors, with their well-liked spikey new wave guitar sound.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and with only a few weeks left to purchase them, and with what, on paper, looks to be a hugely popular line-up, do not expect them to be around forever.
