Jennifer quits pop

Jennifer Ellison says her pop career is over.

The former Brookside actress says she wants to concentrate on her acting career.

She said: "I gave it a good go because I've always wanted to be a singer."

Her songs Bye Bye Boy went to No12 in the charts and Baby I don't Care made it to No6 reports The Sun.

She added: "When I got into pop I found it wasn't so much about the singing as about how cool you wrere. How can you expect to be given a fair chance when no one will give your record airplay."

Jennifer has recently finished filming a prison drama for ITV1.
