Over the past ten years, Billy Bragg has been firing off broadsides in the form of polemical songs which he has made available for free download from his website.
This release brings them together for the first time on CD, along with several recently written songs especially recorded for this collection. They touch on major concerns of the past decade: war, terrorism, the politics of identity, the unaccountable power of capital, all topped off with that rarest of cuts – a Billy Bragg Christmas song.
Billy says “For much of the past 10 years, polemical songs have been met with indifference, but the times are changing and once again there is a need for songs with fight in them.”

Billy takes to the road in November with the Left Field In Motion Tour. Since taking over the running of the Left Field stage at Glastonbury Festival in 2010, Billy has made an effort to showcase young artists who are mixing pop and politics.
The Left Field in Motion Tour will take that concept on the road, with a ticket price pegged lower than usual in an attempt to connect a new generation to the power of music with something to say. The tour includes The King Blues, Akala and Sound of Rum.
