Sting has spent the last year or so touring the world with a symphony orchestra promoting his album Symphonicity but now, to celebrate his 25th anniversary as a solo artist, he is going back to basics with the Back to Bass Tour.

The singer/bassist is promising all of his hits stripped down to fit a five piece band in arrangements that haven't been heard for years. The tour kicks off on October 21 in Boston and ends December 8 in Vancouver.

His solo career spanning box set, Sting: 25 Years, will be out on September 27 and will be followed on October 18 by the single disc Sting: The Best of 25 Years.
