CMT has announced that the next edition of their series CMT Crossroads will include the pairing of Sting and Vince Gill. The occasional series of concert specials on the network puts together a country artist with one from another genre to perform a show of their hits.

John Hamlin of CMT said "These are two Hall of Famers who, by our count, have 36 Grammys between them. Both artists have wanted to do Crossroads for years, and this is the perfect pairing for them. They have been waiting for the right time, and now is the time. This is going to be an unforgettable evening."

The show is scheduled to be shot in front of an invitation-only audience in New York sometime in the coming weeks for airing in November. This is the first Crossroads show to be produced in the Big Apple in over five years.

Both artists have new releases in the coming months. Stings career retrospective, 25 Years, is due on September 27 with a single-disc best of version out on October 18. Gill has his first album in four years, Guitar Slinger, out October 24. His last album was the 2006 Grammy Album of the Year nominee These Days.
