Big Boi and Andre 3000 will deliver solo albums by year’s end and team for a new Outkast album in 2012.
Website HipHopWired has quoted a source saying, “Outkast is on track to release a new album by early next year. Both Dre and Big are working on solo projects; they want those out by the end of 2011.”
While Andre 3000 has been producing and doing appearances (with Ke$ha, Beyonce, Lloyd, Young Jeezy and more), he’s yet to drop a solo album.
Big Boi’s excellent Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty solo album of 2010 took years to come good.
He’s been boasted about hitting the studio on twitter, with his next Def Jam album coming out this year titled Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader in tribute to a generous White Castle fast food employee.
A new Outkast album, which has apparently already begun production, would be the first for the two as a duo since 2006.
