The singer with the ‘Mr Jones’ hitmakers claims he was “f***ing crazy” and suffering from a "severe mental illness," but is trying to cut down on the amount of medication he is taking by himself.

He wrote on his Facebook page: "I was f**king crazy. I needed meds. I took meds. Now I'm less crazy. I need less meds. I'm stopping meds (sic).

"Gotta keep pushing/get off this s**t. Going faster than I should but it still takes too long (sic)."
The 46-year-old didn’t specify exactly what he is suffering from, but in the past said he has a “form of dissociative disorder”.

Explaining his condition in 2008, he said: “It makes the world seem like it’s not real, as if things aren’t taking place. It’s hard to explain, but you feel untethered."

Adam wrote he has already cut his dosage of lithium – commonly used as a mood stabiliser – by half.
He is not, however, stooping drinking as part of his struggle, writing in his Facebook post: "I like drinking. A lot. Sober=not for me (sic)."
