Zoe Kravitz has become one of Jay-Z's closest friends after starring in the music video I Know.
Zoe, daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet, had just begun her acting career when she was asked to appear in the hip-hop star’s 2008 promo. And the experience was such a positive one she has stayed in touch with him ever since.
“I’d met Jay a few times, and then he asked me to be in his video for I Know,” she told ASOS magazine. “After that we became really good friends and now he’s one of my favourite people. It sounds so weird when you say it because he’s f**king Jay-Z! But what’s weird is that he’s such a cool guy that sometimes I wish he wasn’t Jay-Z so we could hang out all day long and walk and talk s**t because I love him.”
It's no surprise that Zoe has become such close friends with the superstar rapper, admitting that most of her pals are males. However, she conceded that she bonded with her X-Men: First Class co-star Jennifer Lawrence during filming on the superhero prequel.
“Jennifer was my godsend on X-Men. Most of my friends are guys, I’ve always been a tomboy in that way, but I have a handful of really good girlfriends,” she added. “Girls can be a little dramatic, a little catty, but that’s why I love Jen so much – we’re goofy and silly and there’s no competition.”
