Debbie Harry will never stop writing music because she’s such a “blabbermouth”.

The singer is the frontwoman of Blondie, and the band is still growing strong after forming in 1974. The group went on hiatus from 1982 until 1997 and Debbie is glad to be back. Music is her life and she can’t imagine only performing old hits, as she has so much left she wants to say.

“I think you have to keep growing and keep it alive, I didn’t want to be standing there swaying back and forth and not really thinking about what I was doing,” she replied, when asked why the group didn’t just perform their old hits when they came back in 1997. “I guess I’m sort of a blabbermouth, I have things to say that lay on my mind. I think that’s important.”

The 65-year-old is renowned for her days of wild partying as a young woman. Her exciting lifestyle and outspoken personality have caused many to hope she’d write an autobiography, and it’s something she has considered.

Debbie has even penned some chapters, although it’s not as easy as she expected.

“I started doing it and it’s sort of like psychotherapy, I thought, ‘Oh, gee! What do I really think about that?’ I wrote up some stories and every once in a while I get the urge and I’ll think of something and I’ll write it down. But it’s sort of hard to remember everything because I never kept diaries,” she said on UK television show Lorraine.
