Summer is about to get a little extra ‘zing’ with the news that The ZingZillas are embarking on a summer tour and will be performing at some of the UK’s biggest music festivals.
In what promises to be a truly scorching set of summer gigs, Zak, Panzee, Tang and Drum also known as rock group, The ZingZillas, are lined up to perform all over the UK, from the famous fields of Glastonbury to the stunning grounds of Lulworth Castle for Camp Bestival.
The set of gigs will see The ZingZillas jumping, jiving and grooving to a selection of their favourite songs, perfect for festival-going kids looking for a fun alternative to the grown-ups’ music on the main stages.
The ZingZillas’ lead singer Zak can barely contain his excitement to get back on the road. He says “We’ve been in the studio recording so it’s been a long time since we were last up on stage. Maybe even as long ago as Christmas! But now the sun’s come out, we are so excited to get cracking on our summer tour and meet all our brilliant fans again. It’s been a long, cold winter on the island but that means we’ve had loads of time to practice our music and get back into the swing of things so we promise it’ll be a brilliant show. We can’t wait to see everyone!”
The ZingZillas’ summer performance schedule is as follows:
• Glastonbury Kidz Field – 23rd – 27th June
• Legoland Live – 16th July
• Camp Bestival – 28th – 31st July
• Lollibop, Regents Park – 5th – 7th August
• Hampton Court Palace – 26th – 29th August
The ZingZillas have had an astounding year following the launch of their show on CBeebies in April 2010 which has had children grooving to the ZingZillas sound ever since. The show is based on a tropical island and celebrates musical genres from around the world, with each show featuring a different musical guest who teaches them about their speciality. At the end of each show, they take inspiration from their guest and incorporate their sounds into their big performance, The Big Zing!
To continue the festival fun, the ZingZillas have also launched a great range of summer products, just perfect for those long, lazy days in the sun. From play tents to inflatable beds, musical backpacks to sunglasses as well as basic essentials like t-shirts, toothbrushes and flannels, ZingZillas fans can now be kitted out all summer with their favourite group, everywhere from Glastonbury to the back garden.
