7 years ago Andy Barton and Three of his friends decided to kick start a club night in his native Dundee. So Andy, graeme binnie, neil clark and bruce anderson came up with the brainchild called `Headway` which will celebrate it`s Seventh birthday party tomorrow with dance legend Josh Winx headlining.
It all began at Fat Sam`s Level 2 with Alan Dobson from Progression in Edinburgh back in 2005 and has had much success over the years including Carl Craig appearing a year ago for their 6th birthday.
Andy explains some other highlights "There`s been so much that has happened over the years but the likes of playing Rock Ness , Zoo Project (Ibiza) and having a mix played on Radio 1 are definitely up there"
Headway has also had nights at Sub Club (Glasgow) , Cabaret Voltaire (Edinburgh) and Riff Raff (Middlesbrough) and has plenty more in the pipeline but its tomorrow`s night gig in the Reading Rooms, Blackscroft, Dundee that is set to be the sweetest moment yet as critically acclaimed and globally recognized U.S DJ Josh Wink rolls into their hometown.
He became internationally known for his hit in the 90`s `Higher State of Consciousness ` and has continued to set the benchmark for experimental music ranging from acid, techno to house music. His most recent endevours have included high profile remixes for the likes of Gorillaz `Melancholy Hill` and Radiohead`s `Everything in it`s Right Place`
Josh will be playing Scotland for the first time in Three years in an intimate venue which only holds a 350 capacity so get there to avoid disappointment when the doors open at 10.30pm and witness the Headway Djs spin some banging tunes before a very special , rare 3 hour rare set from Philidelphia`s finest
