As well as Simmons and Cohen, who Eric B & Rakim claim misrepresented them when they were acting as management, the lawsuit names Island Records, Def Jam Records, Universal Music Enterprises and others.
The sum that the pair are seeking is yet to be decided upon but the suit asks for the accounting of the album's financial history to be investigated in full along with that of the singles 'Eric B Is President' and 'My Melody'.
Eric B expressed his concern to allhiphop.com saying, "All the press is going to make them look bad. We are going to sue everybody," he said.
"I am suing Island and I am going to sue personally. I told them I didn't want it to come to this, but they owe us. They are getting free money year after year after year off our work."
"They expect me to go up to the offices on the ole n*gga sh*t and go up against his head, but we ain't into that."
