Ringo Starr, the former drummer for Rory Storm and the Hurricanes (and we’ve heard rumours he has been in some other band) has become a geek.

Last week, Ringo filed for a trademark for the name ‘Ringo’ to create computer game software and downloadable computer games via the internet and wireless devices.

The 70-year old Beatle is expected to unveil the mystery behind his new venture at SXSW Interactive in Austin in May.

Ringo last venture into gaming was the release of ‘The Beatles: Rock Band’ two years ago. Last year, The Beatles finally succumbed to iTunes and made their music downloadable for the first time.

His last album was ‘Y Not’ in 2010. The album features guest appearances from his old bandmate Paul McCartney and brother-in-law Joe Walsh.
