Former Neighbours actor and Chantoozies singer Tottie Goldsmith says that drugs found in her handbag at a music festival on Saturday we not hers.

Goldsmith was one of 40 people busted by the drug squad at the Hot BBQ music festival, starring Mos Def and Hoodoo Gurus at Point Nepean south of Melbourne on the weekend.

In a carefully worded statement released this afternoon, her representative writes, “Tottie wishes to express her total disapproval and embarrassment that drugs belonging to other people were found in her beach bag. The drugs were not hers nor were they for her use”.

‘‘She thanks Victoria Police for their professionalism and courtesy and strongly encourages them to continue the fight to protect the youth of Victoria.”

Tottie had a fling as a popstar in the 80s as a member of The Chantoozies, with her brother Brett, actor friend Ally Fowler and David Reyne.

She recently played the part of Cassandra Freedman in the super-soap Neighbours.

Tottie is the daugher of Rona Newton-John, the sister of Olivia Newton-John.
