Dave Grohl to star in Muppet film

The Foo Fighters frontman is to star in a cameo role in the new Muppets movie.

Kermit and his buddies centre in a story which leads them to put on a show in an attempt to save their old theatre from falling out of use.

Dave Grohl will reportedly stand in for Electric Mayhem drummer Animal while he attends anger management treatment.

Jack Black, Ricky Gervais and Lady Gaga are also rumoured to have cameos in the film - which is written by and stars 'How I Met Your Mother' actor Jason Segel.
