The i-Mego TopTrakz Challenge – the new European competition designed to showcase the best talent amongst European unsigned bands – has announced its 35-strong shortlist drawn from a flood of entries. The competition, created by global headphones brand i-Mego and unique in its Europe-wide format, has attracted hundreds of entries across many genres, including rap, house, punk, electro, R&B, bluegrass, balladeers, reggae, rock and heavy metal.
The thirty five shortlisted entries feature top quality unsigned artists from nine European and Scandinavian countries - France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the UK. All the entries are published at www.facebook.com/imegoinfinity, and supporters of each shortlisted entry are being encouraged to go and vote for the band they would like to win. Full voting instructions may be found at http://www.facebook.com/imegoinfinity via the Vote 4 Bands tab.
The TopTrakz judges will pick a winner and ten runners-up by 29th October 2010, with the winner being announced on 2nd November 2010.
Now the judges are all set to pick a winner from the shortlisted 35, as well as 10 runners up.
Their decisions will be based partly on artistic judgement and partly on support for entrants expressed by their fans. The winning entrant will get a professional studio day while 10 further entries will receive runners-up prizes.
Miranda Hudson, Marketing Director for i-Mego, comments, “We are delighted that the first in our TopTrakz Challenge series has had such a positive response from around Europe. This shows that there are plenty of bands around who could really do with the boost that comes with being a shortlisted entry, a runner-up, or indeed the eventual winner. There is a thriving scene of excellent musicians whose work is not backed by major commercial marketing campaigns, and they deserve our support. We’re really looking forward to highlighting the 35-strong shortlist throughout October, and opening the facility for fans to cast their votes in support of their favourite band.”
