Brandon Flowers' debut album 'Flamingo' has hit the top spot in the UK on it's first week of release.

The Killers frontman knocked Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' from the numberone spot.

Three of last week's Barclaycard Mercury Prize nominees are also in the top ten with winners The xx at #3, Biffy Clyro's 'Only Revolutions' at #7 and Mumford & Sons 'Sigh No More' at #8.

The 2008 winner of 'The X Factor', Alexandra Burke, goes straight to the top of the singles chart with 'Start Without You', which features American rapper Laza Morgan.
