Bjork has debuted a new song as part of an animated kids’ film.

The film is called Moomins And The Comet Chase and Bjork’s track is ‘The Comet Song’.

Swedish-Finnish author Tove Jannsen created the Moomins in the ‘40s and they soon became hugely popular in Scandinavia.

The film international release will feature the voice talents of Swedish stars Max Von Sydown, Stellan Skarsgard, his son Alexander, and Peter Stormare.

Bjork is a huge fan of the Moomins, and composed ‘The Comet Song’ with Icelandic poet and author Sjon.

She told BBC4 about the characters, “Everybody's allowed to be just as eccentric as they are, they don't have to conform. Reading to my children I actually noticed some kind of anti-authority aspect in it - there's no hierarchy between the characters, they are all equal. I like that a lot."

She has debuted the theme song and stop-motion clip on her website. Have a look http://www.bjork.com/bjork_moomins.html
