Slip Away is the latest Single from local Pop/Rock artist Wayne Micallef released Monday 2nd August 2010. Slip Away was written and produced by Wayne and James bartolo at Wayne Micallef Studio and is currently being played on all top local radio stations.
After the success of Breaking Down earlier in the year, this is the Second single being released by Wayne. He has been very busy in the studio recording a 2nd album with a fresh sound that will be released later in the year, Wayne collaborated with James Bartolo for Slip Away which is one of the country’s best young talents on guitar and has been performing with Wayne for the last 2 years, It didn’t take long for the two to combine there talents and start working together in the studio. The track is an experiment of new age electronic sounds and rock/acoustic instruments with a blend on vocal harmonies.
Wayne released an album last year called Making My Way Home which included songs like Open road, Sound of life, both going to number 1 on Malta Music Charts and also had big hits with Is Someone There, Getting Stronger and Making my way home, The album was a success not just in Malta but also abroad where the album got played in the U.K, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Australia and Canada all generating very good feedback and interest from record labels. Wayne’s future and ambition is to have success with his music but most importantly for the people to enjoy the music.

Wayne also took part in the Malta Euro Song 2009 & 2010 with a self penned songs called “where you belong” & "Save a life" a modern singer/songwriter style which was a big hit with the younger public. Although Wayne enjoyed the experience of the festival and hopes to be there again, he does not want to be labeled as just a festival singer but as a Maltese Artist that enjoys writing, producing, releasing songs and performing music all year round taking any opportunity he can to promote and reach people with his music.
