Akala, the award-winning UK Hip Hop artist, will be performing at the Underage Festival, showcasing a mix of new material and classic tracks. The Underage Festival is the only festival for people under 18 years and takes place in East London's Victoria Park on Sunday 1st August 2010. Music on the day will include live performances from MIA, Chapel Club, Daisy Dares You, Tinie Tempah, Tinchy Stryder and many more.
Akala's performance is in support of CM, a youth and community music organization based in Tower Hamlets, which will be hosting its own 'Music Space' stage. Throughout the day, CM will be showcasing local acts supported and taught through its community music projects.
The Music Space stage at The Underage Festival provides invaluable experience for young artists who have taken courses such as the Music Space programme; a year-long course offering young bands free rehearsal space, and expert tuition from industry professionals in all areas of the songwriting, rehearsing, performing and recording.
