AQUILA, smooth purveyors of sleazy, soul-infused alt-rock, have re-released their debut EP.

Titled Let Me Go, the disc features five darkly danceable slices of debauched, guitar-driven confession, which the band characterise as "indie-noir." "I'll be thinking of you each time someone lies in my bed" promises the title track, showcasing their atypically twisted romanticism.

The new video which accompanies the release is an appropriately skewed cocktail of love story and black comedy, concerning a fictional shopping channel called 'Need It TV' which sells unborn children to the sofa-ridden viewers at home.

AQUILA wrote and produced the video themselves, an audacious move for their first official release. "I got the basic concept," says singer/guitarist Richard Stokes, "and wrote the first draft. Writing is not a natural act for a human being; I get distracted by anything, everything. Eventually I sort of beat the idea into something vaguely recognisable as a working script."

Guitarist Lee Johnson continues: "Then I got hold of a director, Mark Bousfield, who had shown interest in us at a music-news gig in Camden and we pieced together a shot script." From conception to completion it took Lee and Mark 8 months - due to them having full time jobs and having to get a crew of 20 together and an additional cast of 9, including price-drop TV presenter Michelle Livings who was keen to be involved.

"Mark and I had worked with Michelle in the past and she was the obvious choice." says Lee. "A sexy, edgy rock chic who can act! We actually crewed it mostly from friends in the business meaning we could bring it at low cost. All in all we are very proud of this, our first video and we're looking forward to the next one!"

After viewing this promo video, you'll be shocked that they spent little over £1000 to realise this ambitious project.

Let Me Go EP (Lodestar Records) is available from Itunes and Amazon

AQUILA are currently working on a full-length album, provisionally titled Music For Bipolar Boys & Girls, with EMI's Fraser Smith.
