March 18 will see the yearly massive Joy Classix event dedicated to the biggest trance classics ever.
The sound of trance has pioneered the dance music scene since the mid 90s and has redeveloped the same sound over and over again making trance sound fresh and electrified year after year. There are many types of trance and this reason has kept trance alive and dominating dance floors for so long.
First came Psychedelic trance, then Euro Trance, Progressive Trance, Dutch Trance, Electro Trance and Tech Trance and each type has its own feel on the dance floor. For the past decade the Top 100 DJ Mag poll has been dominated by trance DJs such as Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk who have kept trance the major sound in the electronic dance scene.
The history of trance here on the Maltese Islands took off in 1996 with Psychedelic and Acid Trance starting off with a small and loyal following, the Psychedelic scene still exists today and is the underground scene for trance, in 1998 and 1999 in came Progressive Trance followed by Euro, Dutch, Electro and Tech Trance. Trance became the major sound when in 2000 Bolts Productions launched the Go Trance night every Saturday for a total of 3 years with a packed club at Tattingers.
Nowadays world class Trance DJs fill up big arenas thus trance remains one of the most in demand sounds in dance music. This is why Joy Classix Trance will be giving trance lovers a musical experience and visual tour of the history of trance starting off from the mid 90s till today.
So get ready to dance to trance all night long on March 18 (eve of a public holiday) at Tattingers with Malta's Top Trance DJs playing the biggest trance classics plus a special guest live PA by Maria Nayler who is the voice behind trance classic 'Angry Skies’, Sasha Classic 'Be as One' and this summer’s trance anthem 'We Belong' with Ferry Corsten plus her worldwide classic hit ‘One & One’ with Robert Miles.
