We are very pleased to announce a very special Gallery event forthcoming on April 9th with none other than Chicane - live on stage!
Chicane is producer, writer and performer, Nick Bracegirdle, who hails form a small village in Buckinghamshire. A large misconception about Nick is that he is a DJ, however, it's something he has so far had no interest in doing, he is happy making music and producing and working with acts as diverse as Sir Tom Jones, Natasha Bedingfield, Cher, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Bryan Adams, Jewel, Gary Numan, and BT.
Back in 1997 'Offshore' was Chicane's calling card and the album 'Far From the Maddening Crowds' consolidated Chicane's position as Ibiza's top Trance act. 'Saltwater' became a chart hit and in 2000 the single 'Don't Give Up' featuring Bryan Adams became the bands first number one UK single. The album 'Behind the Sun' followed suit and the band’s name has perhaps become coupled with eclectic and diverse collaborations.
The Chicane 'Best Of' album has achieved gold status (over 100,000 sold), which was off the back of the number 7 UK chart single 'Poppiholla'. The album included some of the iconic tracks from the last fourteen years: 'Offshore', 'Don't Give Up', 'Saltwater', and 'Halcyon', as well as recent live favourites such as 'Bruised Water', and 'Hiding All the Stars'. The last few months of 2009 were filled with extensive touring- five festivals in Australia, Jakarta, India and the UK, the live show being an important part of what Chicane represents.
So, what of 2010? A new studio album will be released April/May, and the new single 'Come Back & Stay' is scheduled for early April, and indeed, is already getting heavy play in the clubs, mixes by; Shock One, Rily & Durrant and Dean Newton.
