Noel Gallagher has spoken of his admiration of Abba.
The Oasis star sings the 70s band's praises on Channel 4's Music Hall Of Fame.
He says he wishes he'd written songs such as SOS, Waterloo and Super Trouper.
'Purely from a song writing point of view they were up there with the best.'
He adds: 'Those songs were amazing. SOS. If I could drop that into Oasis and get away with it I would.
'Waterloo is fantastic. The footage of them on Eurovision, silver platforms, that's amazing footage. I love that tune. Chiquitita, does it get any better than that? I don't think so.'
Of their Eurovision winning appearance, he comments: 'They enter Eurovision singing about the battle of Waterloo in platforms - f***ing come on - all s****ing each other? Get in, it does it get better than that?
'What have we got - Will Young, Gareth Gates and Darius?'
But Noel does have some criticism of the Swedish pop icons: 'Abba was a s*** name for a group.'
He also reveals why he dislikes one of the band's biggest hits: 'Dancing Queen has been tainted by hairdressers.'
The full interview can be seen on Music Hall Of Fame on Channel 4 on Sunday, October 24.
