Passion is a Fashion – the real story of The Clash revealed in new biography The story of The Clash – among the greatest of all UK rock bands – is celebrated in Passion is a Fashion, writer Pat Gilbert's authoritative new biography published on Thursday 11th November 2004 through Aurum Press.

This is the first book to set the band in their proper historical and political context. It includes interviews with all members of the band - including the late Joe Strummer - as well as extensive new research and interviews with dozens of the band's entourage, road crew, promoters and management.

Publication of Passion is a Fashion: The Real Story of The Clash coincides with the recent 25th-anniversary re-release of The Clash's classic London Calling album. The extraordinary critical and public acclaim for that album has confirmed The Clash's status as one of the most outstanding rock bands of all time.

Never before, however, has a book about The Clash gone behind the scenes and told the whole story of the band. The result is a hugely compelling read that follows every turn of the band's ten-year career.

Pat Gilbert was the editor of Mojo until 2003, and continues to write major features for the magazine as a contributing editor.
