PIXIES have revealed that they will play a one-off gig in Glasgow this winter.

The four-piece will return to Scotland for the first time since their performance at the T On The Fringe show in Edinburgh in 2005.

The Glasgow show, which takes place at the SECC on October 4th, will be a unique show, with the band set to play seminal album Doolittle in its entirety before continuing their set with a "best of" selection.

It will be their only UK show apart from dates at London's Brixton Academy on October 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th.

Dave McGeachan, promoter at DF Concerts sais: "I’m thrilled that Pixies will be returning to Scotland. They’re one of the most important bands in modern rock music, inspiring a whole host of top acts like Nirvana, Radiohead and Pearl Jam, this is a great chance for fans to see them in the flesh.

"Doolittle is their masterpiece, and always features prominently in best-ever album lists, so the prospect seeing that played in full live is hugely exciting.”

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday 3rd July
