AC/DC have warned fans not to buy tickets for a music festival that has falsely billed them as headliners.

The rockers said promoters in Romania have claimed they are set to perform at the two-day Bucharest Rock Arena festival on 30-31 May.

But the band, who are currently in the middle of a European tour, issued a statement insisting they are not scheduled to play there.

It said: "Promoters in Bucharest, Romania have been falsely advertising AC/DC as the headliner for their 2 day Bucharest Rock Arena festival happening on May 30 and 31, 2009.

"Tickets for this event have been available online as well as (at) various retail outlets in Bucharest. AC/DC fans are encouraged to visit the band’s official website for a list of all sanctioned concerts."
