Natasha Bedingfield's husband needed rain to propose

Natasha Bedingfield's new husband waited for it to rain before proposing.

Matt Robinson, 30, wanted to create the perfect atmosphere for popping the question so he waited until a storm was brewing to take Natasha to New York's Central Park last September.

The 27-year-old British beauty told Britain's Hello! magazine: "I hadn't realised he had been waiting for it to rain - he made it part of it. My dress was completely drenched.

"At the boathouse Matt had just started saying all these things about wanting to care for me forever and how much he loves me. I'm thinking, 'Something's going on here.' Then we went out on the lake in the boat."

Natasha - who married Matt in a low-key ceremony on March 21 - was overwhelmed when he got down on one knee and presented her with a ring he had chosen himself.

She added: "He said such beautiful, beautiful things, too and he had the most beautiful ring which he picked out himself, which I love."
