Katie Melua was caught up in a terrifying airport ordeal when the plane she was on burst into flames.
The blaze broke out as the jet was preparing for take-off at Athens International Airport.
The singer, her manager Mike Batt and the rest of the passengers had to sit wondering what was going on as sirens blared all around them.
They were then evacuated from the blazing plane and held at the airport all day.
Eight fire engines tackled the inferno as the airport went into red alert.
Katie - who is the biggest-selling female solo star of 2004 - had boarded her flight back to London following a small show for Olympic contestants.
As a result of the drama, she missed a vital recording session for her second album.
Her spokesman said: "Katie rang me when they got off the plane. She was slightly shaken. But she's a tough cookie, so she took it in her stride.
"Fortunately everyone was fine but Katie missed crucial studio time for her album. She's so busy it's difficult to reschedule."
Katie's UK tour starts in October kicking off at Glasgow's Clyde Auditorium on October 11.
